Using Key Phrases in Your Resume

As a Freshman at NUS Business School, I went through career counselling to better understand the path I wanted to follow and to better market myself to employers in Singapore. My counsellors guided me through the resume crafting process but I wasn't successful in getting interviews, let alone internship offers.
After speaking with recruiters in the finance industry in Singapore, I realised that the top tier firms use artificial intelligence to filter out applicants based on their resumes. These resumes are carefully scanned for key words and phrases that represent the company or the role in question.
That is when I realised the importance of carefully curating my resume to effectively tackle the recruitment process.
